This blog is supposed to be about survival and being prepared. And we get to that every chance we get. But, while researching , I’ve gotten consumed with other things. Jade Helm 15 has really caught my attention. Also getting my attention: The Bilderberg Group, Zionists, Free Masons, Trilateral Commission, IMF, etc… Actually this is all going to come around to where we need to be heading.
I am finding so much that you don’t hear on the news-even Fox (which is really part of the MSM, just maybe not as liberally biased).
I don’t believe everything I see on the internet, and neither should you. I read as much as I can and then do independent research. That’s what I encourage you to do. Even when you read something here, don’t take my word for it. Do your own research.
What’s on My Mind?
Besides what you can read below here, some upcoming topics will be:
FEMA, WalMart, and DOD
National/International tunnel system
Pentagon’s secret ops mission
Defense Sciences Office
Mastering the human domain (Part of Jade Helm)
And of course, we will address what to do to defend yourself and your family.
Oh, and as a dog lover, we will address protecting your pets when TSHTF.
So, hang on, here we go!
Don’t forget your pets.
Here is a list of items that you should have in your pet emergency kit:
- Food: Make sure that you have at least enough food for your pet to last as long as you provide for yourself. Bring the food they are use to eating and keep it in a waterproof container. Don’t forget a bowl to feed them in and a manual can opener.
- Water: Be sure to have extra water on hand for your pet. Again, don’t forget a bowl.
- Medicines: Remember to pack up any medications that your pet may need to survive. Always have extra medication in the emergency kit so you don’t forget. Some medicines you bring for yourself may also work for your pets, especially natural or homeopathic meds. Some are dangerous or fatal. Be informed.Be aware of any medication that may need refrigeration such as insulin and have a plan in place to keep it cool.
- Medical Records: Be sure to always keep your pets medical records together and with the emergency kit. Records such as proof of ownership, pictures of you and your pet together, vaccinations, and rabies tags are vital especially if you have to cross state lines.
- First Aid Kit: Have a separate medical kit for your pets with basic medical supplies. Some of the items that should be in your pet’s medical kit are: bandages, tape, cotton, scissors, flea and tick prevention, antibiotic ointment, latex gloves, saline solution, alcohol, comb, brush and a Pet Emergency Pocket Guide” .
- Pet Carrier or Crate: Make sure that you have a carrier for each of your pets. Be sure that the carrier or crate is big enough to comfortable fit your pet with room to stand and lie down.
- Sanitation Needs: Don’t forget about the other essentials that your pet needs such as: litter box, litter, paper towels, wipes, plastic bags and newspapers. Also include bleach and other disinfectant products.
- Familiar Items: Emergencies and disaster are not only stressful on humans but on your pet as well. Make sure to make plans to include their favorite toys, blankets, and treats.
Remember, that if the situation appears to not be safe for you then it is not safe for your pet either. If evacuation is necessary then you have to take your pet with you. Many who evacuated during Hurricane Katrina thought that it would only be for a couple of days. Since they thought they would be right back they left their pets behind with enough food and water for a couple of days. Unfortunately, it was much longer then a couple of days and those people who left animals behind were not allowed back into the city to get their pets.
Final Thoughts When Evacuating With Your Pets
Your pets depend on you to take care of them (and in an emergency, you may depend on your pet) so don’t let them down by abandoning them in an emergency. Be sure to include your pets in your emergency and disaster drills. Get them use to being in their carrier and traveling in your truck. Be sure to keep their vaccinations up to date. Make sure they have a secured collar on with identification. Think about taking some basic first aid training for animals in case you have to give your pet CPR or have to bandage a wounded leg. Everything runs smoother if it is planned ahead of time and practiced regularly. Don’t forget to plan for your pets in your emergency and disaster preparedness plans.
Who-or what- is the Bilderberg Group? And, do they really run the world?
According to “The True Story of the Bilderberg Group” written by Daniel Estulin, their membership represents a who’s who of world power elites, mostly from America, Canada, and Western Europe with familiar names like David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Bill Clinton, Gordon Brown, Angela Merkel, Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Larry Summers, Tim Geithner, Lloyd Blankfein, George Soros, Donald Rumsfeld, Rupert Murdoch, other heads of state, influential senators, congressmen and parliamentarians, Pentagon and NATO brass, members of European royalty, selected media figures, and invited others – some quietly by some accounts like Barack Obama and many of his top officials. They first met in 1954 in The Netherlands to “debate the future of the world”.
According to Estulin:
“Whatever its early mission, the Group is now “a shadow world government….threatening to take away our right to direct our own destinies (by creating) a disturbing reality” very much harming the public’s welfare. In short, Bilderbergers want to supplant individual nation-state sovereignty with an all-powerful global government, corporate controlled, and check-mated by militarized enforcement.
Bilderbergers comprise the world’s most exclusive club. No one buys their way in. Only the Group’s Steering Committee decides whom to invite, and in all cases participants are adherents to One World Order governance run by top power elites.
Membership consists of annual attendees (around 80 of the world’s most powerful) and others only invited occasionally because of their knowledge or involvement in relevant topics. Those most valued are asked back, and some first-timers are chosen for their possible later usefulness.
Arkansas governor Bill Clinton, for example, attended in 1991. “There, David Rockefeller told him why the North American Free Trade Agreement was a Bilderberg priority and that the group needed him to support it. The next year, Clinton was elected president,” and on January 1, 1994 NAFTA took effect. Numerous other examples are similar, including who gets chosen for powerful government, military and other key positions.
The Group’s grand design is for “a One World Government (World Company) with a single, global marketplace, policed by one world army, and financially regulated by one ‘World (Central) Bank’ using one global currency.” If this sounds familiar, maybe it’s because that’s what President Obama and the left want as well. Obviously, the U.N. would be in charge, as the left is striving for now. But let’s not be too harsh on the left just yet. Conservatives are willing participants as well. Henry Kissinger, Donald Rumsfeld, Rupert Murdoch (not really all that conservative, but not a left winger either).
Edward Mandell House, was Woodrow Wilson’s chief advisor. On his watch, the Federal Reserve Act passed in December 1913 giving money creation power to bankers, and the 16th Amendment was ratified in February creating the federal income tax to provide a revenue stream to pay for government debt service. He is also one of the founders of The Council on Foreign Relations. CFR is committed to “a one-world government based on a centralized global financing system….” Today, CFR has thousands of influential members (including important ones in the corporate media).
The Trilateral Commission (discussed below) is a similar group that “brings together global power brokers. Its membership includes :
Nearly all presidential candidates of both parties;
Leading senators and congressmen;
Key members of the media and their bosses
Top officials of the FBI, CIA, NSA, defense establishment, and other leading government agencies, including state, commerce, the judiciary and treasury
Whoever occupies the White House, no matter their political party, “CFR’s power and agenda” have been unchanged since its 1921 founding
It’s agenda is for a global superstate with America and other nations sacrificing their sovereignty to a central power.
In 1950,the son of CFR’s founder told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee: “We shall have world government whether or not you like it – by conquest or consent.”
At the 1992 Bilderberg Group meeting, Henry Kissinger said:
“Today, Americans would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow, they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all people of the world will plead with world leaders to deliver them from this evil….individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by their world government.”
The U.N. began with a group of CFR members. At its founding, over forty of it’s U.S. delegates were CFR members.
Most of its income is from leading corporations and major foundations.” The Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Ford Foundations to name three, and they’re directed by key corporate officials.
CFR Cabinet Control
From “The True Story of the Bilderberg Group”:
“The National Security Act of 1947 established the office of Secretary of Defense.” Since then, 14 DOD secretaries have been CFR members.
Since 1940, every Secretary of State, (Republican and Democrat) except James Byrnes, has been a CFR member and/or Trilateral Commission (TC) one.
For the past 80 years, “Virtually every key US National Security and Foreign Policy Advisor has been a CFR member.
Nearly all top generals and admirals have been CFR members.
Many presidential candidates were/are CFR members, including Herbert Hoover, Adlai Stevenson, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter (also a charter TC member), George HW Bush, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and John McCain.
Numerous CIA directors were/are CFR members, including Richard Helmes, James Schlesinger, William Casey, William Webster, Robert Gates, James Woolsey, John Deutsch, George Tenet, Porter Goss, Michael Hayden, and Leon Panetta.
Many Treasury Secretaries were/are CFR members, including Douglas Dillon, George Schultz, William Simon, James Baker, Nicholas Brady, Lloyd Bentsen, Robert Rubin, Henry Paulson, and Tim Geithner.
When presidents nominate Supreme Court candidates, the CFR’s “Special Group, Secret Team” or advisors vet them for acceptability. Presidents, in fact, are told who to appoint, including designees to the High Court and most lower ones.
And what about the media?
Former CBS News president Richard Salant (1961 – 64 and 1966 – 79) explained the major media’s role: “Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have.”
The Rockefeller family wields enormous power. For years “the Rockefellers (led by David) gained great influence over the media.
Numerous think tanks, foundations, the major media, and other key organizations are staffed with CFR members. Most of its life-members also belong to the TC and Bilderberg Group, operate secretly, and wield enormous power over US and world affairs.
The Rockefeller-Founded Trilateral Commission (TC)
On page 405 of his Memoirs, David Rockfeller wrote:
“Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”
Trilateralist Zbigniew Brzezinski (TC’s co-founder) wrote in his Between Two Ages – America’s Role in the Technotronic Era:
“People, governments and economies of all nations must serve the needs of multinational banks and corporations. (The Constitution is) inadequate….the old framework of international politics, with their sphere of influence….the fiction of sovereignty….is clearly no longer compatible with reality….”
Bilderberg’s success depends on finding “a way to get us to surrender our liberties in the name of some common threat or crisis. The foundations, educational institutions, and research think tanks supported by (these organizations) oblige by financing so-called ‘studies’ which are then used to justify their every excess. The excuses vary, but the target is always individual liberty. Our liberty” and much more. Congressional democrats are now pushing for 60 million dollars for the CDC to study gun violence. And, there are so many global warming studies you can’t count them. I could spend the day listing all the studies.
Bilderbergers want “an all-encompassing monopoly” – over government, money, industry, and property that’s “self-perpetuating and eternal.” In Confessions of a Monopolist (1906), Frederick C. Howe explained its workings in practice:
“The rules of big business: Get a monopoly; let Society work for you. So long as we see all international revolutionaries and all international capitalists as implacable enemies of one another, then we miss a crucial point….a partnership between international monopoly capitalism and international revolutionary socialism is for their mutual benefit.”
In the Rockefeller File, Gary Allen wrote:
“By the late nineteenth century, the inner sanctums of Wall Street understood that the most efficient way to gain a monopoly was to say it was for the ‘public good’ and ‘public interest.’ “
David Rockefeller learned this from his father, John D., Jr. who learned it from his father, John D. Sr. They hated competition and relentlessly strove to eliminate it – for David on a global scale through a New World Order.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Trilateralists and CFR members collaborated on CFR’s “1980 Project,” the largest ever CFR initiative to steer world events “toward a particular desirable future outcome (involving) the utter disintegration of the economy.” Why so is the question?
By the 1950s and 1960s, worldwide industrial growth meant more competition. It was also a model to be followed, and “had to be strangled in the cradle” or at least greatly contained. The result has been a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich, shrinkage of the middle class, and plan for its eventual demise.
During the Reagan administration in the early 1980s. David Rockefeller, George Schultz and Paul Volker told the president that Canada and America could be politically and economically merged over the next 15 years except for one problem – French-speaking Quebec. Their solution – elect a Bilderberg-friendly prime minister, separate Quebec from the other provinces, then esentially make Canada America’s 51st state. It almost worked, but not quite when a 1995 secession referendum was defeated – 50.56% to 49.44%, but not the idea of merger.
At a March 23, 2005 Waco, Texas meeting, attended by George Bush, Mexico’s Vincente Fox, and Canada’s Paul Martin, the Security and and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) was launched, also known as the North American Union (NAU). It was a secretive Independent Task Force of North America agreement – a group organized by the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE), the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations, and CFR with the following aims:
– circumventing the legislatures of three countries and their constitutions;
– suppressing public knowledge or consideration; and
– proposing greater US, Canadian and Mexican economic, political, social, and security integration with secretive working groups formed to devise non-debatable, not voted on agreements to be binding and unchangeable.
This sounds a lot like the trade deal being rammed through congress now. The president would pretty much have authority to make international trade deals without congressional approval. Really, he does this now and no one stops him. (“I have a phone and a pen”).
In short – a corporate coup d’etat against the sovereignty of three nations enforced by hard line militarization to suppress opposition. See article about Jade Helm 15.
If enacted, it will create a borderless North America, corporate controlled, without barriers to trade or capital flows for business giants, mainly US ones and much more – America’s access to vital resources, especially oil and Canada’s fresh water.
Part of this plan played out with the eventual creation of the EU, The European Union. This came incrementally and took over 50 years to be fully realized. similar to the EU and “under construction” for years is the North American Union.
Steps Toward a North American Union:
– the October 4, 1988 Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the US and Canada, finalized the previous year;
– at the 1991 Bilderberg meeting, David Rockefeller got governor Bill Clinton’s support for NAFTA if he became president;
– on January 1, 1994, with no debate under “fast-track” rules, Congress approved WTO legislation;
– in December 1994 at the first Summit of the Americas, 34 leaders committed their nations to a Free Trade of the Americas agreement (FTAA) by 2005 ;
– on July 4, 2000, Mexican president Vincente Fox called for a North American common market in 20 years;
– on February 2001, the White House published a joint statement from George Bush and Vincente Fox called the “Guanajuato Proposal;” it was for a US-Canada-Mexico prosperity partnership (aka North American Union);
– in September 2001, Bush and Fox agreed to a “Partnership for Prosperity Initiative;”
– the September 11, 2001 attack gave cover to including “security” as part of a future partnership;
– on October 7, 2001, a CFA meeting highlighted “The Future of North American Integration in the Wake of Terrorist Attacks; for the first time, “security” became part of a future “partnership for prosperity;” also, Canada was to be included in a “North American” agreement;
– in 2002, the North American Forum on Integration (NAFI) was established in Montreal “to address the issues raised by North American integration as well as identify new ideas and strategies to reinforce the North American region;”
– in January 2003, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE – composed of 150 top CEOs) launched the “North American Security and Prosperity Initiative” calling for continental integration;
– in April 2004, Canadian prime minister Paul Martin announced the nation’s first ever national security policy called Securing an Open Society;
– on October 15, 2004, CFR established an Independent Task Force on the Future of North America – for a future continental union;
– in March 2005, a CFR report titled Creating a North American Community called for continental integration by 2010 “to enhance, prosperity, and opportunity for all North Americans;” and
– on March 23, 2005 in Waco, Texas, America, Canada and Mexico leaders launched the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) – aka North American Union (NAU).
And now, TPP. The Trans Pacific Partnership btinging in members from all over the world. Members include: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia,Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam. This process began under G. Bush and is now being pushed through by Obama.. Seriously, they’re all in it together.
Topics from a recent Bildergerg meeting:
– establishing a Global Treasury Department and Global Central Bank, possibly partnered with or as part of the IMF;
– a global currency;
– destruction of the dollar through what longtime market analyst Bob Chapman calls “a stealth default on (US) debt by continuing to issue massive amounts of money and credit and in the process devaluing the dollar,” a process he calls “fraud;”
– a global legal system;
– exploiting the Swine Flu scare to create a WHO global department of health; and
– the overall goal of a global government and the end of national sovereignty.

Daniel Estulin The True Story of the Bilderberg Group
Who attends The Bilderberg meetings?
Regulars include names like Rockefeller and Rothschild, although guests have included Margaret Thatcher, Bill Clinton (even before he became President), Bill and Melinda Gates, and many other names that are immediately recognizable including Presidents Bush and Obama. A lot of these articles seem to be tying together whether deliberately or by accident. Expect something in the near future about the Rothschilds and Zionists. it really will be relevant.
I have highlighted some of the interesting names. They are interesting because of their political and/or professional positions. Note Pete Thiel, the designer of the Jade software. That’s Jade as in “Jade Helm 15”.

Reason to be Concerned
O.k., I might be getting a little worried. Of course you are hearing about “Jade Helm”. And you’ve seen Matt Drudge’s warning of Obama’s scorched earth policy. In it, Matt Drudge warns of our president’s all out assault on everything American. He has only eighteen months left as president and he seems determined to fulfill as much of his agenda as possible-and probably by any means possible. He obviously can’t get his agenda past the U.S. Congress. Surprisingly it’s too much for even them to stomach. He has said-and proven-“I have a phone and a pen”. He knows he has little time left and little support so he is going to go all out. And go it alone. Or will he really have to go it alone?
And then there’s Jade Helm
JADE HELM 15 stands for “Joint Assistant for Deployment and Execution,” “Homeland Eradication of Local Militants,” “2015.”Incidentally, who are these local militants?
JADE “is actually a software program that was initiated by the Pentagon for the rapid distribution of logistic support.” Jade, the software was designed by Pete Thiel, a member of the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group. More on that later.
From the Pentagon’s own declassified document:
JH is a challenging eight-week joint military and interagency (IA) Unconventional Warfare (UW) exercise conducted throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.
Some individuals (participants in Jade Helm) may conduct suspicious activities designed to prepare them for complex environments overseas.
The infiltration into American cities where these forces are supposed to blend in could somehow be explained away as preparing for foreign engagement, where there’s no hostility,” is ludicrous
Question asked of Fort Carson Public Affairs Chief of Media Relations in relation to the Raider Focus training exercises (in conjunction with Jade Helm):
Will there be house to house gun confiscation type training?
Answer: We do not discuss specific types of training however, the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson stand ready to deploy mission-trained Soldiers and units whenever and wherever the Army calls us to action.
Clearly not a resounding “NO”. So, is that a yes, then?
Despite the obfuscation of the truth about Jade Helm by the vast majority of the media, the military is now providing the public with evidence which validates the concerns that Jade Helm is a clear and present danger to the American people.
Amy Goodman, the host of the PBS show, Democracy Now, has recently reported that a permanent martial law occupying force will go live in October of 2015. The martial law enforcement unit is the 3rd Infantry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team. The mission is to serve as “an on-call Federal response in times of emergency”.
Under the control of Northern Command, the martial law unit will be responsible for stopping civil unrest and engaging in crowd control. When the terms “civil unrest” and “crowd control” are used, this can only mean that the 3rd Infantry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team is rehearsing to subdue the American people in a martial law action.
Who’s side are they on, anyway?
A lot of this info comes directly from the military. What if the military is on board with the ulterior motives behind Jade Helm and this release of information is intentional in that they want to see a public backlash.
“Perhaps elements of the Jade Helm task force are not fully on board with the full implementation of the objectives and we are seeing a moderate attempt to warn the American people”. This posited by Mike Adams in an article in Natural News.
There have been as yet unsubstantiated reports of discontent in the armed forces. Apparently, there is some disdain for the Commander in Chief.
It keeps getting weirder
Oh, and did you hear about the new tensions with Russia because they are increasing their supply of intercontinental ballistic missiles? Pure bs. This administration is allowing Russian soldiers to train along with ours in America.
Russian “Airborne Assault Forces” will be arriving in Colorado this May (obviously already in progress) for joint terror-war exercises with U.S. soldiers, according to U.S. officials and Russian military personnel cited in media reports.
“They’re going to set up cells of people and test how well they’re able to move around without getting too noticed in the community,” said Roy Boyd, chief deputy with the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office. “They’re testing their abilities to basically blend in with the local environment and not stand out and blow their cover.” We are teaching Russian soldiers how to “hide in plain sight” in America.
If North Korea, China or Pakistan conducted a Jade Helm military drill in their own civilian cities and towns, such activities would be immediately and accurately seen by the West as drills for militarily enforced martial law.
How is this training “realistic” if the populations being targeted in the training aren’t the target of some future planned military action? Military training on the streets of America isn’t “realistic” training for fighting wars overseas. It’s only “realistic” for military action that takes place on the streets of America.
Anyone who thinks the U.S. military is training in Bastrop, Texas so that they can fight enemy insurgents in Fallujah is failing to see the obvious. Operation Jade Helm is, without question, an illegal martial law drill intended to prepare the troops for deployment against civilian populations in America. Its very existence is a direct violation of the Posse Comitatus Act which prohibits the U.S. military from functioning as domestic police.
Offered by Mike Adams: This looks very likely to be part of military readiness training for the social chaos that’s likely to follow the inevitable global debt collapse. Come to think of it, when all that hits the fan, you and everybody else will probably BEG the military to take control of the cities and quell the rioting that’s sure to follow.
Does Occupy Wall street ring a bell? How about Ferguson, Baltimore, McKinney? Glenn Beck (love him or hate him) has been warning about upcoming riots and protests for years. See The Blaze. These aren’t organic events sprouting up on their own. They are orchestrated and in some cases paid for. Some of the “professional protesters” who showed up at several of these events are actually paid by a George Soros (another member of the Bilderberg Group) backed group. More on Bilderberg later,remember?
And then there’s this: Martial law training already underway on the streets of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
A video from DahBoo777 captures a scene of apparent martial law training in downtown Fort Lauderdale recently. (Apparently a part of Jade Helm which wasn’t supposed to begin until July 15, 2015)
In still photos taken from the video you can see soldiers equipped with night vision gear and rifles on the streets of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., USA:
In this apparent martial law training drill caught on video, “arrested” citizens are rounded up and forced to march single file, led by an armed soldier with night vision gear and a rifle. This marching arrangement is exactly the way prisoners of war are marched into prison camps in a war scenario:
Here, soldiers are practicing arresting citizens at gunpoint after throwing them to the ground:
Apache helicopters are conducting landings and takeoffs right in the middle of the city:
In an incident in Michigan, also said to be part of Jade Helm (which begins July 15, remember), a chopper hit a downtown building doing considerable damage.
A partial squad of soldiers patrols the street as part of the round-up “practice arrest” of citizens:
So, why am I worried?
Do you think all of this is what worries me? Well yeah, of course it does. It worries you too, right? But here’s what really worries me:
They’re all in it together
Other than a few Texans (God bless ’em), I can’t see anyone doing anything about this. Republicans and Democrats are in on it. They must be, because I haven’t heard of any congressional actions to even look into this. Governor Abbott of Texas and a few Texas politicians have taken measures to at least keep an eye on the operations in Texas. I’m not sure what good that will do.
Do you think Fox News isn’t “Main Stream Media”? They may be more “fair and balanced” than most. And they slant more conservative than the other MSM. But,apparently their strings are pulled by the same puppeteer as the rest. Not only are they not covering Jade Helm 15, they openly ridiculed anyone who is worried by it. Incidentally, they haven’t covered the documents that show Ambassador Stevens was operating a gun running operation out of the Libyan embassy. Or, that General Hamm, The head of Africomm, had an operation in the works to rescue Stevens and the other Americans and was told to stand down. Hamm ultimately lost his command over that.
Who ya gonna call?
So, who can you count on? Ultimately, YOURSELF. That’s it. Hopefully some fellow Patriots-like minded freedom lovers. People who haven’t lost all hope in America. But, ultimately yourself.
Pay attention. And, be prepared.
Ready for Anything
In the United States, we’d like to think we’re safe. We’ve got safe roads, ample supply of food, and police to protect us from criminals. However, the times where we’re the most vulnerable are often the times we think we’re most protected. As the saying goes, we’re always only three meals away from a revolution; and in an instant, everything we know can come crashing down.
I’m not saying all this to frighten you as much as wake you up out of complacency. What would you do if Ebola gets worse and starts killing a significant portion of the population? What about if a super storm completely annihilates your region of the country or the economy finally collapses?
Don’t feel bad if you’re drawing a blank. It is really difficult to deal with emergencies on the fly; especially when you’ve lost access to the things you take for granted like safe roads and clean water. Just because you think something won’t happen, doesn’t mean it cannot or will not happen. If you want to survive the worst, then you have to prepare for the worst.
Today, I’m going to walk you through some possible catastrophic disaster scenarios, what you’ll need to prepare for them, and how to survive. Check your tin-foil at the door, because these disasters can actually happen. There’s no FEMA death camps, NWO, or lizard people; just cold hard facts and the unpalatable truth. Now, without wasting any more time, let’s get started.
As much as we like to downplay the risk of a global pandemic; it is frighteningly easy to spread a deadly virus worldwide. With Ebola spreading throughout the world, including the United States, the idea of millions of people dying in a deadly pandemic doesn’t seem so farfetched anymore; and it’s not unprecedented in history. In 1918, the Spanish Flu killed 50-100 million people; and before that the Black Death killed approximately 2/3rds of the entire European population.
However the difference between Ebola, the Spanish Flu, and the Black Death is that due to international travel Ebola can spread a lot faster and kill a lot faster. Air planes, boats, and cars are great until one person infects a million just by simply moving from point A to point B. A deadly pandemic can spread overnight and completely destabilize a society in a matter of weeks. Hoping the government is going to save you is not the best idea; if you want to survive an outbreak, you’re going to have rely on yourself.
You would be a fool if you didn’t think that your home was at risk of being destroyed from a natural disaster. Whether it’s a hurricane, earthquake, tornado, landslide, whatever; every region in the world has its own risk of a natural disaster. What’s worse is that due to the changing climates, nature is getting bigger, meaner, and deadlier than ever before. Don’t believe me? Here’s a list of recent super storms and their death tolls.
One Cyclone in Bangladesh killed 140,000 people. Entire towns were sucked away. That is simply mind boggling. Imagine if that hit New York City or Washington DC? Remember, just because that cyclone happened in the “third world” does not mean it cannot happen here. If Hurricane Katrina taught us anything, it’s that you shouldn’t trust the government to help you before, during, or after a catastrophic storm. The best thing to do is be prepared.
Still not fully recovered from the 2008 collapse, the world economy hangs on by a thread. The Euro is in risk of collapse, the dollar is getting weaker by the day, and the Chinese are flirting with a real estate crash similar to ours 2008. That’s not even taking into account potential cyber attacks that could wreak havoc on the economy.
If there ever was a point in our history for us to fall past the financial tipping point; this is the time. One of the reasons this scenario is so deceptively dangerous is that there are many implications that go with it.
Unable to pay the police or the military, civil order would quickly begin to degrade. As banks collapse, many people would lose all their money; and with that the ability to feed themselves. There would be large swaths of the population angry, hungry, and looking for something to do; which would lead to riots and militias. What are you going to do when you come home to find out that all your money in the bank is gone?
How to Prepare
You’re probably thinking to yourself “Alright, I get that I need to be prepared for the worst; but how do I start?” Starting out, it can really be difficult figuring what do to; but as long as you stick to a few basic principles, you’ll have a pretty good chance of weathering the crisis. Every good prepper needs at least four things: A bug out bag, a bug out spot, access to food & water, and a means of self defense.
You may be wondering what I mean by bug out bag and bug out spot. When I say “bugging out” it means to flee to a safer location. Unless your property is perfectly situated, odds are you won’t want to stay in your home. So when I say “bug out spot” I mean your safe place; and when I say “bug out bag” I mean a bag that is meant to sustain you until you make it to your bug out spot.
You want your bug out bag to be pre-packed and located in either your car or a convenient location that you get to quickly. A good bug out bag will have twelve items essential to your survival. They are as followed:
A knife for cutting, protection, and shelter building
A tarp for shelter construction
Container for food and water
Rope for building shelters and binding broken bones
Ferro rods and small pieces of paper for tinder to make fire
A flashlight and several candles
A compass for navigation
Several cotton cloths bandages, head protection, etc.
Duct tape for binding and repairs
Canvas needle for sewing and wound care
In a pandemic scenario it is essential that you also include on that list a Person ProtectiveEquipment Kit or PPE Kit. A PPE kit contains essential items to prevent exposure toinfectious disease like rubber gloves, surgical masks, hand sanitizer, and sanitation wipes.
Even if there isn’t an outbreak, you still want to have this in your bag. A breakdown in society means a breakdown in hygiene; which will inevitably lead to a spread of infectious disease.
Don’t forget to pack a bug out bag for every member of the family, even those with four legs. For pets, you need the essential food, water, blanket, kennel (if possible), and a leash and collar with tags. A bug out bag should be lightweight and easy to carry; so don’t go overboard with the food and water. Remember, this bag is only meant to last for a few days at best. Your bug out spot is your ultimate goal.
Before everything goes to hell in a hand basket, make sure to plan your evacuation route. Practice your evacuation until you can do it in your sleep; when things go wrong, practice and let habit take over. Make sure everyone in the family, pets included, participate.
Should you get stuck on your way to your bug out spot, there are two easy shelters you can build; the A-Frame Hut and the Lean-To. For this explanation, we’ll assume you have all the things you need in your bug out bag.
To construct the A-Frame; find two trees that are 6-7 feet apart. Take your rope and tie it between the two trees. Lay your tarp over it and either use stakes or sticks to secure the tarp. To construct the Lean-To; tie a rope to a tree and bring it down at a 45 degree angle, stretch your tarp tightly over the rope and secure with stake or sticks. The A-Frame offers more visibility, but less protection from the elements; and the Lean-To offers good protection but poor visibility.
Building the perfect bug out spot requires time, patience, and a lot of effort. Ideally it should be located on a plot of land that’s in an isolated area, where you can grow crops and raise livestock, where you can renew your water supply, and where you can defend yourself.
As always, if circumstances do not permit ideal situations (when do they ever?) make the best out of what you have. If you can’t leave your home and you’re in a populated area, then devise a strategy around it. How you deal with your circumstances is even more important than the circumstances you’re handed.
Obviously it takes time to grow a sufficient food supply to sustain you or anyone that may be with you; which is why it is important to first build a stockpile of food that can last until your crops come in. There are hundreds of websites online that sell emergency foods with a long shelf life. Some foods can last for a decade so even if you don’t have a lot of money to stockpile food, you can still slowly build up your food supply.
You can also purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and can them. If you don’t know how to can food, you can simple guides online to help you out. Believe it or not on the website for the Mormon Church has an excellent food storage guide and it is well worth a look. Canned vegetables can last around 2-4 years and highly acidic foods like tomatoes last for about 12-18 months.
To store water you’ll need to get 50 gallon plastic water barrels that are free of the synthetic hormone BPA. BPA is extremely harmful and can interfere with a women’s fertility. You can indentify BPA free barrels by a number on the bottom of the barrel. It’s called the recycling number and it’s marked with a triangle. BPA free plastic will be marked “1”, “2”, or “5”. If it is marked “7” is has BPA in it. Keep your water barrels off the ground and in the dark to prevent bacteria growth.
Make sure your bug out spot is defendable. In a disaster scenario, there will be plenty of dishonest and desperate people that will try to steal and/or hurt you and your family for what you have. Try to limit the number of places a person could approach your bug out spot. If it’s more than just you, make sure everyone knows how to hold, operate, and clean a gun. In a post-disaster society, defense is everyone’s concern.
With regards to what kind of gun or guns you should have for defense, there are at least three basic weapons you should have. You need a .45 caliber pistol; a 12 gauge shotgun; and a rifle, preferably an AR-15 or AK variant. A pistol can protect you in close range combat; a shotgun will give you the stopping power to drop large attackers and the spread to deal with crowds; and the rifle is perfect for hunting and fending off distant foes.
It’s up to you
I have given you the basic information you need to start prepping; now the rest is up to you. You can read all the guides in the world, but until you start acting nothing will get done. Start off small by stocking up food, and then slowly work your way to more difficult projects.
Whatever you do, make sure you have a plan. The dividing line between those that survive and those that get lost in the crowd is a plan. If you’ve done your research, have a plan, and have done the necessary preparations you will come out of almost any disaster alive.
Would you love to support your family working from home. I do. It takes work and commitment. Check this out.
N C Congressman says: Be Prepared for Anything!
The Obama administration’s top national security officials are participating in a Senate hearing today, to answer questions about President Obama’s request for authorization to use military force (AUMF) against the Islamic State (ISIS). Republican Congressman Robert Pittenger says he hopes to see a war powers authorization without limitations. It should be noted that the powers previously granted give Mr. Obama more power and flexibility to prosecute this war on terror than he is now asking for.
But Congressman Pittenger isn’t only worried about terror threats overseas. As the chair of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, he’s also the author of a new guide on terror preparation at home. The guide is now available online and includes everything from the supplies families should have at home, to the chemical agents terrorists might use in their attacks.
Clearly not your “run of the mill ” prepper. Perhaps Mr Pittinger’s advice should be heeded. Of course, we’ve been saying this for a while.
